Learn with the Masters! World Renowned Coach, Woman International Master and FIDE Trainer Beatriz Marinello

Novice, Intermediate and Advanced levels welcome! Open to all schools and students Ages 5 – 18.

Description of Program – Classes begin January 2019.

Our chess program uses an interactive and hands-on approach for students to learn chess with fun and engaging activities. Our activities include chess instruction and lessons, a ‘chess lab’ which includes worksheets, problem solving, and more tactics! Students will also participate in class tournament games with notation and clocks making this an exciting and rewarding experience. Students will love learning chess with these fun and effective strategies.

Additionally, our student to teacher ratio is 8-1 maximum; this ensures that each student can also received individualized attention and training. Space is limited to 20 students for morning classes and 20 students for afternoon classes. If you would like to set up private lessons with our instructors for special opening preparations, we can arrange that as well.

What will students learn?

This is just a brief outline of what our students will learn. Our instructors evaluate a student’s ability and provide instruction based on these needs.

Novice Players: Introduction to Chess; Developing a clear understanding of each piece; Strategy, Basic Plans, Introduction to Basic Checkmate Patterns and Tactics and more!

Intermediate/Advanced Players:

Combinations, Tactics, develop a clear understanding of openings, middle game and endgames, strategic thinking, how to think logically. Students will also learn from their own games and learn from the masters using tools that will help them analyze and best prepare for tournament play and much more!

Advanced registration is required. No walk-ins.

Schedule: This program takes place on Saturdays following the schedule below.

Student selects either the morning or afternoon class schedule:

  1. Morning Class: 10am-1pm
  2. Afternoon Class: 2pm-5pm

Program Fees:

The cost is $45 per class if enroll in Semester blocks; Single Class for Morning or Afternoon $60 per single class.

  • Winter 2019 (11 Classes $495): Jan 5, 12, 26; Feb 2, 9, 23; March 2, 9, 13, 23, 30, 2019
  • Spring 2019 (10 Classes) $450): April 6, 13, 27; May 4, 11, 18; June 1, 8, 15, 22, 2019

Refunds: A full refund minus a $50.00 cancelation fee, is provided for cancellation requests received 10 days prior to program start date. No refunds are provided if the cancellation is not received 10 days prior to program start date without a doctor’s note or due to extenuating circumstances.

Meals:

Students may bring a snack and drink. Please be sure to indicate any allergies and health concerns on your enrollment form.

Late Pick Up:

Class dismissal for morning class is 1pm. Class dismissal for the afternoon class is at 5pm. Students picked up 5 -15 minutes late will incurr an additional $10.00/per session when late; for students picked up more than 15 minutes late, the parent will be charged an additional $15.00 for every 15 minutes (rounded up).
